Brother's Lament

My brother is an avid reader of science fiction. When I was with him recently, he lamented that: so much of science fiction has become fantasy; everyone is writing dystopias; and that there were too few “new” ideas being developed in science fiction.
I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I am writing a dystopia. However, when I finish it and he has the opportunity to read it, he may be pleased to discover that I have tried to include some “new” ideas. We shall see.
